I started going to the gym 3 weeks ago and it has been a hell lot of sweating and running and weight lifting. I've been trying to keep active since I feel and look obese. I'm 5'7 1/2 and I'm 150lbs. Yah, I just broadcast my weight for the whole word to know. Hahaha!

Anyhow, my iPod is my staple partner when hitting the gym. I've stocked up on all genre to find the perfect playlist to keep me going and boost my much needed motivation to shed the hated pounds.

Quick Holy Week Escape

Holidays are over. Its back to reality. But before I check the next long weekend on the calendar, I'd want to share some things I did during the Holy Week. It's nothing much really. Me, my bf and his friends just slack off for 2 days.

Sun, water and sand. Loving summer!

Holy Friday.

Lollies are the best way to make you stay awake during a road trip when your driver hates seeing you doze off. haha! Beach cove view from the loft. :)

Makeshift beddings. Thank you Willis Haviland Carrier. You're the best.

Black Saturday.

A very steep road going down to the beach. View from cabana #4.

Lychee shake. Frisbee and sunblock.

Morning of Easter Sunday.

Bag of Beans, Tagaytay. Buffet area.

Breakfast buffet for only Php350. Buffet selection includes Tapa, Tocino, Chicken Pork Adobo  (i love!!), Pork and Chicken hotdog, Daing na Bangus, Ham, Corned Beef, fried rice, omelet, eggs (sunny side up or scrambled), Sotanghon soup, Arrozcaldo, cereals and pastries. Unlimited brewed coffee, hot chocolate, tea, orange juice and iced tea.
When my bf saw that they served breakfast buffet, he just said "Wala ng isip isip. Attack!" LMAO! :D

SOLB!

When we were walking down the resto, someone kept on whistling so I felt irritated. Little do I know, the one who kept whistling is this cute Myna bird. You are forgiven. :) It can even say "Hi!" and "Hello!". So kyoot!

I know it should be the time to reflect and such but hey, who doesn't want to relax during the Holy Week. ;)

I hope you had a great Holy Week weekend people!

Migraine Go Away

I've been suffering with migraine for 15 years and counting and today it struck again. I woke up today with a throbbing headache and I felt nauseated. It is just paralyzing and would want to stay in bed but I just can't leave my 8 classes today so I decided to go to work. Hay!

16 years ago on a Wednesday afternoon, while all my cousins are having their afternoon siesta, a garbage truck came and signaled that they'll be collecting the trash. Since I'm the only one awake and I feel like being mabait that day, I decided to take the trash outside. The next thing I know, everyone was screaming and shouting and I was rushed in the hospital. I remember parts of the incident vividly but the accident itself was really vague. The only thing I remembered was I had a paddle sized bruise on both of my thighs and I was able to finish a 1 family sized pan pizza all by myself. haha!

After a year, I started to have daily episodes of throbbing headache with nausea and vomiting. All my service mates always saved me a seat at the end of the van nearest to the door because they know that I can throw up anytime. It was the hardest year for me. I always skipped class because I had to go to the doctor to get some random exam. My family even thought that I had a brain tumor of some sort but fortunately after countless needle pricks and number of MRIs and CT Scans, the doctor finally gave us his final diagnosis, Childhood Migraine. Yun lang pala! Sus!

For 15 years now, I've been dealing with this condition and every time it strikes it always feels like its the first time. I never drink any kind of medicine because I'm scared to be immune so I just endure every throbbing pain.

So I try to find some remedies that I don't need to ingest any synthetic drugs. Hope people like me find this helpful.

  • Have a bath or shower.
  • Lie down to rest in a dark room.
  • Avoid bright or flashing light.
  • Put something cold on the back of your neck, such as a cold, wet cloth; or alternate hot and cold cloths where the pain is.
  • Put a cold compress on your forehead and your feet in container of warm water.
  • Have a drink of water or natural juice, especially tomato juice.
  • Have some food, or a nutritious drink, if you haven't eaten for a while.
  • Massage your own face, head, neck and shoulders, or get someone else to do those and your back. Relax your muscles.
  • Press on two pressure points at the back of the neck. These points are about two inches apart, just below the base of the skull. Press for a minute or two. This releases endorphins that help against pain.
  • Massage or press on the fleshy area between thumb and forefinger.
  • Gently lean the head to left or right to stretch the neck muscles.
  • Massage and relax any tense muscles.
  • Avoid sources of stress. Cancel activities so there's less to worry about.
  • Avoid exercise during a headache if it makes throbbing pain in the head and neck worse. On the other hand, generally exercise improves health, and it may help you relax during a headache.
  • Take some niacin (a form of vitamin B3). Taking enough niacin to cause a flush (blood rushing to the skin) can provide relief from headache pain, but this much niacin can also have side effects (flush, nausea, heartburn, liver damage, etc.) Niacinamide doesn't have such bad side effects, but isn't as much use against migraines, either. Smaller, safer amounts of niacin are also helpful. Niacin can trigger a migraine, though.
  • Take some vitamin C, vitamin B6, choline, tryptophan and niacin and/or magnesium.

Best thing I can advice is that stop worrying and stressing yourself too much to avoid
having migraines. Plus more water when your having an episode and get some sleep. But
for me, no work no pay so the hell with this migraine!

Get well!

Why Pinoys are Dumb. Well I'm not!

Came across this video while doing my daily check on my social networking sites. It caught my attention since it's colorful and it has a picture of the MOST STUPID PERSON I know. It got me curious so I watched it. The next thing I knew, I wanted to share my thoughts to the rest of the world.

Watch this. :)

Some Filipinos may find this insulting, but this is just showing what is really happening in our society.
Filipinos are known to be great and talented because they are said to be a mix of Asian and European blood. However, despite their talent dancing in the tune of “Ispageti” (a novelty song in the Philippines), use the Magic Sing (a portable karaoke gadget), throw dramas in Willing Willie (a primetime game show in TV5), why don’t they have common sense? They keep voting unripe yellow politicians.
Filipinos are diligent but why is the Philippines swimming in garbage and clutter? Filipinos are hospitable, but why do they swindle? Patient and understanding, but why are Filipinos ax crazy on driving? Undisciplined, swindlers of their own kind, fucked up sense of pride. Ignorant and brainless zombies of the media. But Filipinos weren’t like this before the People Power back in 1986.
by mrcaffeine

I'm not a political person nor a partisan. Actually I really take no interest in politics but after the May 2010 Presidential elections, it made me want to exercise my freedom of speech.

Who on earth would vote for a person to be their president just because his mother died? Because his sister is a so-called multi media star? Because he keep on saying "tatahakin ko ang daang matuwid"? Who? FILIPINOS.

I am a Filipino and I know that most of us are sympathetic and ardent but that shouldn't cloud our mind when choosing our leader.  Look what's happening now? NOTHING. We've been in this shit hole for a quarter of a century now. When will we learn how to choose the right leader? Why are we always fooled by the media? That's because we are gullible and afraid to take changes. I don't want to be called dumb because I do what the media ask me to do. I don't even watch local channels kaya?!

Changes are inevitable and I think that's a good way to straighten up the path that keeps on dragging us below. If weren't too afraid to take risks and change what ever that is to be changed, I strongly and truly believe that the Philippines can be the next Singapore.

Think about it.

RANTING 101: I had too much

Compliments are one of women's confidence booster but I'm not the common woman. See, compliments are good and it really boost someone's self confidence but if it's too much, it starts to get very annoying.
Compliment me once or twice is fine but telling me everyday that you like what I wear, you like my bag, I'm so sexy, my face glows etc. is starting to annoy me. Seriously! I am not being proud nor conceited but I'm not really good with compliments. I find it a bit plastic and toadyish. I'd rather be not noticed than be the center of attention.

Enough. I so get it.
